Day One:
The Writing Prompt
I didn’t mean to steal it, at least, not at first. But the moment it landed in my hand, it felt like it had always belonged there.
My Creative Take
I didn’t mean to steal it, at least, not at first. But the moment it landed in my hand, it felt like it had always belonged there.
That’s why I kept it. I held it close, studied it with awe-struck eyes. In my mind, I saw hot copper pouring over the coin’s surface, spreading like molten molasses across etched metal. It was just a penny, or so I thought.
A shock wave pulsed through my body, as if the coin were trying to speak, to tell me something buried and ancient. When I flipped it over, pain lanced through my palm. I dropped it with a gasp.
The imprint scorched into my skin wasn’t just the face from the coin, it was more than that. It was watching me.
My body shivered.
My Thoughts
Today, I started my daily writing exercise. I’m doing this to help my creativity. There are so many things that go on in my daily life, my business and my family, that I’ve been finding it hard to “see” the story in things. So, I’ve decided to take one writing prompt a day and simply write the first thing that comes to mind. There’s no writing limit. Just to write. It can be a sentence, paragraph or few thousand words. It’s just about sparking creativity. Also, these are unedited. I welcome your ideas from these prompts in the comments.
